The Kanektok River, also known as the "Chosen" River, is a 95-mile-long waterway in Alaska that offers exceptional float fishing. As an angler, you're probably excited about the opportunity to catch beautifully spotted leopard rainbow trout or mighty Pacific salmon. Well, guess what? The Kanektok River is the perfect size for wading and doing some exciting sight fishing, but it's also big enough to float down comfortably. In July, you can expect to find a variety of species, including King, Chum, Sockeye, and Pink Salmon (available during even years). Combine all the different Pacific salmon with the heavily spotted Leopard Rainbow trout, Arctic Grayling, Arctic Char, Lake Trout, and sea-run Dolly Varden, and you have nine fish species in one river.
During your trip, Mike, Cole and the other guides will take care of everything, from safari-style camping to delicious meals. After a good night's rest wake up to a hearty breakfast and another day of great fishing on the Kanektok River with experienced guides who have what it takes to make this trip memorable. Here at Alaska Rainbow Adventures, we value the natural heritage, resources, and residents of the region, and we encourage our guests to do the same. Our trips are designed to be minimal in environmental impact, educational, and enjoyable. We utilize one guide for every two anglers while floating the Kanektok River in custom-built rafts, each equipped with custom frames with front and rear seating. The group will settle into different campsites each night, and each stop will provide quality fishing opportunities.
